Generally, they advertise even mid range boards as being 4 way SLI and crossfire X compatible, the difference is, it can only be 2 GTX 590's or 2 6990's. I can only suggest these: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/giga...-20-ddr3-1866(oc)-sata-6gb-s-sata-raid-xl-atx
    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus...e-20-(x16)-ddr3-2133-2000-sata-6gb-s-raid-atx
    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus...0(x16)-ddr3-2133(oc)-sata-6gb-s-sata-raid-atx

Looking at it, you do not need a multi GPU config to do this. You can pop them in without a bridge. The most affordable you can get is the crosshair IV, which has plummeted in price: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus...-e-20-ddr3-1600-1800-1866-sata-6gb-s-raid-atx

those boards look awesome but are too expensive, really looking too spend less than £100 ex shipping, on a three or four port pcie x16 slot motherboard, or motherboard with open ended x1 or x4 pcie slots as thru put to the cards isnt important for my setup

your right i only really used crossfire descritivly, dont really intend to implement it

Ah a fellow miner. I would be wary with the recent fall in prices. BTC are trading down, and if you see TH or MTGOX go below $10 then watch out for a freefall in price.

I really don't remember ever seeing a good mobo at or below your budget with more than 2 slots... and even boards with moer than 2 slots aren't usually all 16x unless it's a higher end chipset.

your right they usually are pcie 16x but with pcie 8x electricals, i'm not worried about thru put just that they will fit a pcie gpu.

from what i gather pcie 1x slots would be fine aslong as they have open ends:D

There area few of the new 990 chipset am3+ boards from MSI and Gigabyte that have 4 x16@x8 slots. Probably still more than you're looking to spend though.

MSI K9A2 Platinum support 4 cards (& in crossfire if you wanted).

I've got one going spare if you're interested.

    Hmm, interesting.

What sort of money are we talking, enough to pay the electricity bill of leaving your PC on or being able to buy a piece of pc hardware each month say?

enought to pay back your invest meant in 2 or 3 months

e.g. all electrical plus the cost of your rigg

your gpu's have to be ati 4/5/6 the more shaders the better

nvidia just doesnt cut the mustard top end nividia is 3 or 4 times slower than a 5770

the sweet spot just now gotta be the 5850 for price/performance

a 5770 running 24x7 will net you approx $20 per week

if your gonna do it sign upto slushes pool
