Hi all I am trying to pick a new keyboard but I can't find one that I like. I game but it's not the primary use of my PC. I love the chiclet style keyboards and I find them more accurate to type on due to the key separation. I want it to be backlit ideally white or blue, have a double height enter key and a number pad. I was looking at the Razor Death Stalker The deal breaker on that keyboard is the single row Enter key which I just find too annoying to live with. I also looked at the Logitech K800 but it's not Chiclet and I didn't like the feel of the keys. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Little tip don't buy anything from razer they seem to struggle with the concept of electronics. But their mouse pads are alright. I own one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Emprex-Chic...mputers_7?ie=UTF8&refRID=13EEQVP72YVCKDPSW4AZ and it works well for the most part. But not sure how long the letters on the keys will last. I only really use it for essay writing.
Personally I've always been a fan of logitech products, I've never really had a problem with their products
got to say i got a corsair K90 and i am loving it (gaming & typing), blue backlight & mech switches http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vengeance-k90-performance-mmo-mechanical-gaming-keyboard
Looks interesting, from a purely aesthetic look I quite like the look of the K95 purely because it's all black and matches the rest of my setup http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/vengeance-k95-fully-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-uk-key-layout How do you find the red switches?
The corsair boards are nice but a bit pricy, for a nice, affordable mechanical, cooler master have plenty available that may tickle your fancy. Just a matter of deciding which switch you prefer, if you want the numpad, backlight, etc.
The Coolermaster keyboards all have single row enter keys which is a deal breaker for me. There are quite a few keyboards like this gaming ones in particular makes me wonder if it's just me that finds this annoying???
Chiclet backlit keyboard ? I don't think i ever seen such keyboard. The chiclet part would be easy, i personally use(d) : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Keysonic-KSK-8021U-Aluminium-Design-Keyboard/dp/B006W5ZY6W/ (just check what layout you get, you probably want the UK ISO layout). But finding one with backlight, that is a hard task .
But also Razer . What i meant that backlit chiclet is relatively rare, you don't have many options to choose from.
I didn't realise there was so little love for Razor... I don't understand why backlit keyboards are so rare they are very common on laptops. I love the keyboard that's on my laptop and if I could connect it to my PC I would. I just find the key separation really helps with typing and there is no issue if you happen to hit the corner of a key like on some other membrane keyboards where the key doesn't go down straight.
You can get coolermaster keyboards with ISO layout no problem. (rather than ANSI with the single line enter)
I personally went through 3 Razer mices in 6 years, and that is probably the problem of most of us - their products usually survive only until the end of the warranty. Or for example my Vespula mouse mat simply was not covered under the warranty - the fact that the glue didn't hold the surface to the plastic middle part was considered as "mechanical damage". To be fair, the Destructor 2 mousemat is good so far. Backlit keyboards are common. Backlit chiclet is not common. @others: why do you guys keep suggesting full height mechanical keyboards to someone who clearly don't has problems even with the low profile scissors keys ?
Infact a lot of the pictures I am seeing are ANSI layout if the keyboard is UK layout does that mean it will be an ISO layout? Bit-tech reviewed a Ducky Shine 2 and their pictures show an ISO layout but on their site they are all ANSI layouts
