We use NT Password Remover in work. It's a bit complex to use though so if you need any help just let me know :)

Thanks I'll give it a try tomorrow, of course they didn't make recovery disk ffs.

I can get in the BIOS and it will boot from USB strangely it wouldn't boot from a Linux live CD

    Download hirens boot cd.

Make a bootable usb stick with it and use that.

I've used it many times for clearing passwords and it's brilliant.

We use the Microsft toolkit DART. Or ERD for older versions of Windows. As Ms partners we have access to them. I can zip up an ISO for you and transfer to you if you like?

Thanks mate. Although it boots into a windows 8 environment it will work just fine with 7. If not I'm sure I have an older version in one of my drawers :D

EDIT: If I remember right, it's the same as if you were to install Windows 8 but just choose the option to repair my computer and then you should see the DART recovery tools.

Offline Password Reset, will give you access to the admin account which can then reset any local user account.

it's only an 18MB bootable ISO.

That looks good Atomic. The DART disk is overkill but atleast Teelzebub will have a decent toolkit to hand.
