Ubisoft are asking people to sign it, I imagine it's just a matter of time before they confirm it's on PC too.
50k people is probably less than break even just to convert it to pc that's the crazy part about it. Conviction was a decent game but it was very broken on release on AMD Gpu systems. Do they really want to go through that again. As it took them a while to patch the issues out of it.
Rock Paper Shotgun reported this, and all the comments were things like this one 17/06/2013 at 10:03 Yachmenev says: Well, f*** them then. This trend of publisher asking us to beg them for the possibility to buy their product is ridiculous." - isn't that disgusting? How negative and miserable too!? Its a great game, and if Ubi are encouraging us to sign a petition to say we want it on PC, then great! It'll be the same crowd whining that its not on PC this time next year.
That's cause most of them don't get how a company that larger works. The partition is clearly being pushed by the middle management and actual development team. But the only ones to give the final 'OK' are upper management/Partnership/Board. Top of the company says they will clear the budget for the port if there are enough partitions, rest of the company now saying to the public 'come on, we can do this' - that's all. /2cents EDIT: Signed 7850 still needed. Refreshed the page a few times now: looks like about 1 sign per 10 seconds, so it's not long now...
If I remember correctly the developers pushed for it in an interview. Not Ubisoft. But as Draksis said if there's enough signatures Ubisoft may think about giving Massive the money and go-ahead to do it. (On a side note I believe there's some confusion on the web about who's responsible because the developer is called "Ubisoft Massive" but the Ubisoft the publisher is who everyone needs to appeal to.)
Wow! Hadn't heard of it before seeing this update but that looks *amazing*!!! Q4 2014, according to the Wiki.
Apparently Massive are making the PC port a fully optimised all the bells and whistles that PC delivers version. Given their PC heritage (WORLD IN CONFLICT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), I have little reason to doubt them.
The Division looks good from what has been shown so far. That said, I may end up with the PS4 version...
To think they weren't even going to make it on PC is pretty awful...What are these companies coming to nowadays?!
WiC is a note-worthy title, but for me, Massive won my undying affection with Ground Control. I hope that this can deliver what it is promising, I really really do.
Jaysus, hell of a wait. Not quite as much as Star Citizen, but I'm not on board for that one. Titanfall should keep me pleasantly occupied until such time. Still, the premise is interesting and it could succeed, I just hope that Ubisoft don't mess this up.
