Hey guys, I'm doing a report, and while looking for costs for certain things, I can't find a cost for a single lane road per mile, so was wondering if anyone knows of anyway to find out the information (With a source). Only seen the cost on unreliable websites, and what seems like a bit extreme costs.

    Cheers

Surfacing it, or actually building it from nothing? The latter is a pretty rare circumstance, and will be difficult to find a costing for two reasons: First, they're usually done by construction companies while building a larger site, so are rolled into the costs. Second is that the difficulty varies by the terrain - building a high mountain pass will be exponentially more expensive than on a flat plain.

[edit] Have a look at this from the Herts Council.

It's more to find the value of a plain road for a cost benefit analysis, but it would be building it from nothing really. Yeah they're so variable which means it's being a pain in the arse to find, but it's just a flat road luckily.

That article is really useful though thanks, might use the resurfacing value, as it's just a road that has been surfaced as opposed to heavy infrastructure in building it (Off road track that seems fairly poorly maintained as it is).
