    Hi Guys

Apologies if there is already a thread on this.

I was browsing 4K tvs and noticed that there is a lot of info that made little or no sense to me.

For instance, depending on brand, motion processing is shown as either 1200 PMI or 1200 Ghz or 1200 PQI. What are they on about?

Is it better to have the TV with HDR ?

Also any advice on what is 'must have' and what is just a 'nice to have'.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks

    Shanx

HDR isn't a must have now, but in the next couple years it will make a difference once HDR content comes out. I can't advise on the motion processing I'm afraid as I have no idea.

They all mean the same thing, basically the higher the number, the more picture processing can be done which should technically result in better picture quality or smoothness. However, quality and smoothness is all subjective. I'd definitely go round Currys or something and just try them all.

As for HDR, you'll need content encoded with HDR to utilise it as far as I'm aware.

No idea what to recommend though lol.

Just make sure you get the tele with the correct colour spacing, which is 4:4:4. :)

PS4 and Xbox One games do HDR, so if you have one of those its not a worthless feature, though finding a TV that does it with minimal latency is an issue.

Oh no not HDR, I'd quite like my TV to not look like a cross between a JJ Abrams movie and a game from 2007.

    Prepare for BLOOOOOM!

But bloom is a poor man's HDR. You shouldn't get bloom when using HDR, it is superior. Unless you're talking about the effect of going from very dark to very bright very quickly and it giving an almost white out like a human eye would?

I thought there still is no content for 4K?
Heck the only full-HD (1080) I get here are Blurays, our "HD"TV is all 720p
