I haven't been photographing much lately, and figured it was time to capture some photons again. Since the weather is pretty bad, it's not much outside to photograph. I went out and got a couple of construction lights (500W each) with a stand. They were dirt cheap. Definitely not the best quality, but they should be just fine as photo equipment. I also made a small reflector with a sheet of paper with some tinfoil glued on one side, and some more paper on the other side to make a stand. Anyway, this is what I ended up with: " It is more or less just a test of the setup, but so far, so good. I figured that experementing with different setups of light could be fun.
Playing with light really is fun Some of the effects you can get with just a few simple lights are amazing. Dan
That Bishop really reminds me of a cartoon character, and it's driving me mad now. Anyone else get that, or just me? Well exposed shot that. Anything predominantly black is tricky.
+1 nice shot, though somehow the reflections seem more realistic then the real thing... it's almost like a render somehow!
