    Hello :)
Then for my new project, I've the pleasure to participate at the Thermaltake Casemod Contest
    I'll work on a Core X71

    big case! though.... :hehe:

we begin to remove some parts.....

    other....

    taking some measure...

    remove feets too....

replace them by another but we'll see that later :D

and we begin to play with the drill :dremel:

the bottom part was rectified to be totally flat

some holes on the rear part....

    Hello :)

Then we continue with this alu profiles

    making a frame....

    for the new motherboard tray

the acrylic plate is temporary, waiting for the aluminium plate

but it helps to correct small errors :grr:

the idea is to enlarge the rear space of the case

    hello :)
we keep the rear panel with the I/O Shield

the back part of the case being totally cut, we have put in place this new plate by reducing the number of opening to the minimum :dremel:

the advantage of taking an accessory plate while waiting for the aluminum plate
So we can adjust the position of the holes ... :duh::duh:

    strengthen the framework

    placing of the motherboard

in order to identify the passage of cables
    ATX one

    CPU one

    some cutting...

and we realize some little plate with wire to wire concept

without forgetting the graphic card cable :)

we finish this update with the opening for the power supply

Looks interesting, can you elaborate more on the plan for the build? Is it going to be a wine cooler or are you gonna use wine as coolant lol :D

    fixing on the plate

    hello
next update with ..... another alu plate :D

    we need this grid

    but not all...

    we keep the magnetic tape

this plate is for the bottom of the case

the opening coincide with the power supply
    better with this new grid

we don't use the original feet....

but these which are on cardboard box

    these one precisely :)

    some extra holes for fixation

    nice :)

we take again the plate positionning on the front of the X71

    some cutting inside

    some sanding later

we can now install the slim radiator

    see you :)

    hello :)

then we an acrylic plate for the motherboard tray to facilitate the placement of the various holes

we receive the aluminium plate, then we report the differents openings on it

the concept of this tray is to have a space for the differents cables
then we us some aluminium profile

we makes some holes at different locations depending on the type of cable

big hole on the second plate :D

In situ with the main compartment

    and the low compartment

    front side

completing with some cable channel on the front panel

and some wood on its inner face

visible through the big hole of the second plate

acrylic plate to have a large window :hip:

I hope we have enough holes for the cables :worried:

placing in situ with motherboard and graphic cards

    back side

    front side with radiator

    and the "new" reservoir.... :D:D:D

    see you :)

    hello :)
last day, we see our new reservoir
but we keep the Thermaltake reservoir too

the goal of the game is to get inside one another

    no 36 solutions....
we need to cut the bottle

we took rope and a bottle of alcohol to burn

    - "we wrap the rope around the bottle

    and remove the rope

    to put it on alcohol

during this time we fill a larger container of cold water

we put the rope back on the bottle

    we ignite the rope
and we turn the bottle on itself so that the heat is distributed on all the turn

    when the flame goes out....

we must quickly plunge the bottle into cold water

    "bling" yes! successful operation

well .... the cut is not always as clear as we hope....
we needed to repeat the operation on other bottles ...
in order to achieve the expected result

now we can dissimulate the Pacific reservoir on the bootle :)

    to the next time!

    hello :)
today we take care of graphics cards

we receive the new Thermaltake waterblock for this Strix

we have to remove the original heatsink

    and also the backplate"

we take the instructions for use :search:

    Pad in place

    two grapic cards
    two waterblocks

    and two Thermaltake backplate :)

but these backplate no fit with our theme based on wine cooling.... :eyebrow:
new plate aluminium.... no actually we take a wooden board :D

we cut it to the dimensions of the backplate

we will bring him the little touch that sticks to the theme

transfering it on the wooden board

    some black paint later....

we begin removing the outer side of the stencil

    we continue on one side....

    - "and voilà !!!

    other wooden board

new stencil but same player... picture

always pay attention during the transfer so that all the details remain in place

camouflage session for the rest of the wooden board before painting

we have added a signature in relation to the previous model :)

and we add some details on the edges

    two new backplate Wine Cooling

    see you soon

    hello :)
after the graphic cards, we have the motherboard also...
the maximus formula VIII is already well prepared especially with its fairing

more we can see a backlight placed in two locations

but the ROG theme not fit with our theme.... and we want to have a more neutral color on this fairing
    more black....
    ... all black

the name of this mod is Wine Cooling....
so we take a little piece of aluminium with a wood veneer and we begin cutting the first letters

    a bit later....

    ...we tweak the cutting lines

    and.... voilà :)

    we make two little holes....
    and fix spacers

    bye bye Maximus VIII....
    welcome Wine Cooling!

the cover of the chipset heatsink come with the ROG logo...
so we take a llittle plate aluminium

as the "Wine Cooling", we fix a wood veneer on it

and we choose a new logo!

we'll take advantage of the backlight coming from the heat sink

    that's all

    see you

    hello
    aluminium plate !
    no! wooden board

    I'll play to the bricklayer....

    one piece by one piece

all right! finish the second part too

    we tweak the details

the small touch with some shiny mosaics

    why make a walll...
to dress the location of the barrels :)

I show you this in the case

    better with the barrels

nothing better than to mount a wall to dress our cellar :D:D
    see you soon

    hello :)
the last time, we can see the barrels in place on the X71"
but we can see another updapte on this X71"
we had finished the new structure of the case with our new aluminum plates

but we were not going to leave the case as well ;)
    so.... all in black !!!!

    main compartment as lower compartement....
    black :cooldude:

    on the back
    black :p

    underneath
    black too...
well not all  we keep the feet unchanged

backstage side, we had protected the inner face which contains the wood veener

we can notice two small details at this level
    this cutting ....

the second detail take place upper
    two long screw ....

but at this moment, I can not say more about them :duh:

    thanks reading me :thumb:

    hello :)
now we have completed the structure of our X71
so we can beginning to customize inside the case
we take a wooden board on which we made a hole

we cut it to the right size

    new stencil!

we transfer it on the wooden board

counter to the backplates, we took a brown paint

    we remove the stencil
    starting with the letters

then we take care of the castle

    et voilà !!! :)
like a board of wine bottle boxes

here is how the board in the case

    see you soon

    hello :)
today we care of the front radiator
    we take an aluminium plate....

we stay on the red wine theme
some vine leaves and a bunch of grapes

we would cut this with our scroll saw
before we have drill some holes

and we start quietly with the first vine leaf

then, we continue on the others vine leaf

    few minutes later.....
    ok....few hours later :hehe:

    we finish all the cutting

    we begin sanding the plate

    we tweak the details

As you can see, we added a few cuts on some vine leaves

and we folded one of the edges of the plate to cover a little more the radiator

the idea is to put a backliight to bring out the cut

yes! because we paint the fairing in black ;)

before leaving for an upcoming update
here is a small video of my use of the scroll saw

    Merry Christmas :)
