Hello. I am trying to install Google SketchUp and I keep getting this error:

    An error occurred in PreBootstrapper.
    [Could not run setup.exe]

I tried an sfc /scannow file checker command and it came back fine. I also defaulted the registry for .EXE file associations. Ran as administration, scanned for viruses, tried installing in safe mode... nothing is working.

Anti Virus stopping it from running? Try disabling whatever you are using.

Maybe try right clicking your install and selecting run as administrator. Should sort it.

Check you have updated Windows, specifically any service packs for .NET
And check there aren't to many files in the Windows Temp folder.

I had ESET disabled and already tried the run as administrator. Cleared TEMP folder and tried different download sources. Hmm

This if you haven't already. Give Windows update a try or, repair your .net applications.

Other installers have been acting strange. Typically MSI ones will start to extract, then just disappear and nothing else happens. I have the latest windows update (which did have an update for .net framework). But it still is giving me the error. I do not have another computer to test the install. Just an ipad.
