    Hey guys, let's go!

For this round of the MNPCTech Design contest, we based the designs on the Cooler Master HAF932!
This was a one month long contest, with a community vote at the end to decide the top 3 placings. The contest was not restricted to any software, as long as the final entry is NOT rendered! (ensures a level playing field in regards to eye candy, etc)

Thanks heaps once again to our sponsors, MNPCTech, and a newcomer this round, Aurora Creative Studios NZ, and thanks to Jez for continuing to host the Sketchup Component Collection. Also thanks to Craigr1982 for supplying the model on which we will mod!
    Prizes:

The sponsors will discuss the options at that point.

    Idea for round 7
Best of the best - invitational only!
Get together the top 3 placegetters of the previous contests and throw them in the ring together, 1 month to design a free for all case around a certain motherboard.

It would be randomly selected from the SCC collection, unless a manufacturer (ASUS, Gigabyte, etx HINTHINT) get involved :)

 I don't think I'm eligible for this, although it doesn't look like it matters.

I have to say I don't like your idea for the next contest. Limiting the contestants also limits the potential output. For example, Scooby popped in for contest two and really blew us away.
I think sending invites to former designers so they know the contest exists is good. I'd also like another open format contest. The ideas get really freaky.

Upping thetime limit would bring in some of the busier builders too. It might get dull for the readers, but the end results should be worth it.

Aww I really wish I could have found more time to get this finished :( been paying close attention to the thread though and I have to say Guille's design really does push all my buttons in the right places ;D
I don't really have an opinion on the idea for #7 :( I would feel privileged to be offered a spot but at the same time I can see the downsides as cheap's mentioned. Also if you only limit it to the 7 - 10 finalists then your having to count on everyone being free for that month to get their designs in which could end up with only a few final entries :(

    Adding on Cheaps extended time limit idea, why not run a "knock out" competition with small prizes for each stage and then a grand prize for the over all winner over say a 3 month period. Something like;

    Month 1 / Round 1
    • Initial design / roughing
    • Voting
    • Top 10 go through to round 2
    • Small prizes for the top 2

    Month 2 / Round 2
    • Semi complete
    • Voting
    • Top 5 go through to round 3
    • Small prizes for the top 3

    Month 3 / Final
    • Final Designs / Renders
    • Voting
    • Winners announced:clap:
    • 1st place = Grand prize 2nd & 3rd = smaller prizes

    Just an idea :)

    @Editor22 : thanks mate :)

Kind of reminds me of the Phobya contest (with the per stage prize added). Very nice idea. The phobya contest was a very nice experience, I learned a lot and it was nice sharing with everyone on this community. I'm new to case modding and it was a perfect first time, very teaching.

Thanks to MNPCTesh, Confusis, Aurora Creative Studios NZ, and everyone involved. Good luck to all contestants.

@Confusis : How long will the vote last ?

I like the idea of a limited competition, and basing it on previous winners will make it (hopefully) of a higher quality. However you may get some people grumping about being unable to compete, perhaps it would be best to have a divided competition with different classes (like Le Mans) and suitably staggered prizes; e.g. previous top3, previous top 10, open.

I hadn't expected to see my entry here it being unfinished (hardly started) and entirely undeserving of any votes at it's current level of development.

Open and Invitational, good idea.. may be harder to get enough prizes though.. I'll have to see what I can do.

Vote will be for 21 days from yesterday.. Thought with it being summer up there folks may not be on as often :)

    It's very quiet here :)

@confusis : the #7 is going to be a scratch build only around a mobo or will it be scratch / case mod ?

You can scratch build your dream. Take a 3dfx, add a mobo and then a little touch of copper. You can even SLI your dream with a bikini contest :

possible resulting dream : gals in copper bikini fighting in cooling fuild for a brand new motherbord
