Hi Chaps, As you may (or might not be) aware, Barclays is making me redundant as of the 6th of May. To help try and find another job, I've been brushing up my LinkedIn profile. http://www.linkedin.com/pub/jason-cundall/49/3a3/417 If you're in IT, and on LinkedIn - please take a look at my profile. I'm looking for more connections in the industry to further my hunt for work. If you know me through bit-tech, feel free to connect. Cheers, Jason
On a separate note I'm jobhunting for full time stuff now, does anyone know of anybody getting an interview that led to a job from LinkedIn? I've only just seen the one firm that accepted direct applications from it and they were an online company anyway, anyone had success from it as opposed to just picking up contacts?
I don't have many contacts linked to my profile because I don't use it for much, but I'm always looking for more, so I'll link in with you now
I think it's more a case of a networking tool... That said, I am getting jobs I may be interested shown on my profile page... and there's been some interesting Hits on my profile so far... I am trying to crack the 50 connection barrier, as when that happens, your profile is deemed 'complete'
Perhaps it would be a good idea if we linked to each others linked-in profiles so we can all connect up?
Sent you a connection invitation or wahtever they are called. I like that idea. My public profile is here.
I got my new job (start in 2 weeks) through LinkedIn... recruiters plough through profiles to find experience and references... fully recommend it!
Actually related to Jason now: The 'ol Tesco Homies are after peeps of your calibre for their new website, bit of a commute down to Welwyn Garden City though?
Thanks Mike - It looks like I'm sorted now as it happens. Had a barrage of interviews on Friday (all for the same position - what a rigmarole!) and was told after the final one the job was mine, subject to a 4 week trial period. Here's hoping the job is as interesting as it sounds (Info Sec. & Crypto).
