Seems interesting but I will never use this as I simply don't really push the hardware enough to require something like this.

I forget im pretty old now.

It is a ocz voltage booster.

Stick that in a spare ddr slot and crank the pot on the top of it to send volts whizzing through your memory in the adjacent slots.

Was used for old winbond BH-5 and CH-5 that loved volts back in the days when for some reason motherboards didnt support higher than say 1.8 volts.

 

I might use it except I don't have EVGA bits and no intention of soldering my bits.

I've never seen that OCZ thing before. Plugs into ddr slot. Wow. It does look vintage now.

 

Yeah they've been around a little while now, only used for extreme overclocking obviously.

It's just a company doing what some enthusiasts had already done (taking the power circuitry from one card and soldering it to another), but doing it in a neater, and more thorough fashion.

 

Yup I saw photos a while after the 680 was released of an extreme zotac mod and also evga pushing clock speeds way up.

Not really practical for day to day use is it.

Back in the 80's I was designing and building a lot of circuits but I'm far too lazy for all that now.

Never modded a GPU board ever.

Like many add on but not needed extras I am sure it is good just not mass market.
