ARMAGEDDON, THE SUM OF ALL FEARS

yes sirreee, you read right, and this one will ba a reall mf from outer space.
big bad and real kick ass.
after years of watching you guys making desks here, i have finally decided to show you how i would make mine.
i love your build so dont get me wrong, but i dont want to make that very frequently made glass top led lit hardware visual desk at all. there are just too many of them out there.
so decided to make a desk design no one has ever seen before.
the posting will start soon, and then you will realise why its called
ARMAGEDDON, THE SUM OF ALL FEARS. it will have a lot of electromechanical parts, all with a specific function of course. loudspeakers, the hardware, case, retractable keybpoard, xy camera, hideable twin monitors and much much more.
more to come.

You must be building a new home, because if this thing is going to look like any of your previous mods it's going to be huge!!

Gentlemen! I don't think the chair is drawn to scale. It's going to be desk-sized.
It does, however, look like it will have everything but a place to stash your paperclips.

hi guys, yes, you all got it right, the chair is not proportionally right, just showing where the front is,,,,,so i worked on a camera carriage System which will give me an almost quarter arc of movement. the camera can thuis be sled right or left from the Viewers head without leaving ist Focus oint in the middle and is also not just motorised but has a tilt servo too to adjust the hight the whole rig will be stuck to the top of the Monitor array

[IMG][/IMG]

the whole rail is basically a curtian rail, with Motor jigs made of Video Recorder parts, a camera and a servo

[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]

the next Thing i worked on was the James bond number plate type Keyboard swivel it away concealer System, this is just the first idea a had, i afterwards changed it a bit though.howevere the idea is that when not in use, the Keyboard should not be in the way.

[IMG][/IMG]
a 12 v Motor with a two cog System to swivel it around.

and this is the result of the rig before it was actually mountable

Better idea...Drop down/slide away cover panel with a pop-up keyboard? If it's better, I'm guessing it's crazy-complicated too.

thanks all of you, yes this one is quite tricky too. the system itself is not that complicated, but getting it alligned and exact was a bitchy chore.

its not quite finished yet and the cover will change but basically its alligned and the dust cover actually conceals the keyboard in such a way that the whole jig needs less depth under the table, where the leg room is, has a less steep angle, and i can bang around on it and apply pressure so that i dont have to have any saftey clasps or so forth like in the first swivel flip over system.
now i could throw a stack of books onto the desk and the drawwr wont suddenly flip over and swallow them.:D

for this system i am using a some what flatter cherry wired keyboard.
