    Hey All,

I've had my Gainward HD4850 since Christmas and I've only recently looked at the temperatures that it runs at... when folding at home under 80-90% load it never exceeds 43C. Which I thought was strange. I see this info in GPU-z and Catalyst Control Center and they are the same.

I've seen Toms hardware note it as 81C when IDLE - what's that all about. How come mine are so radically different. I've got riva tuner running the fans at 55% when folding, but when it is reduced to its default of 6% it never really exceeds 45C.

I'm not complaining... these are nice temperatures (If they're true) but what is the likelyhood of these values being true. I've never had any overheating problems with the card.

The 81C is because of the crappy cooler it had on the OEM models.

the stock cooler on my 4850 kept it at a nice warm 80 degrees at idle and 90+ at load.
If you dont have the stock cooler then its fine.
