The reason I wasn't really considering that card was that it only has 128mb of RAM. Since WoW and HL2 aren't that graphically taxing would benefit more from the additional RAM than the higher clockrate (Comparing the 6800 Noah listed vs the 6600 I listed)

This looks good, but it looks like I might have to get an aftermarket cooler, since the reviews say it is loud.

If you can stretch to the 6800 then you'll be getting a great card, that you may well be able to unlock to get some additional performance, or minimum overclock like a beast. If you can't then i'd say go for the X1600PRO.

At that speed the card will not be limited by the amount of ram it has on it. The 6800 will absolutely murder the 6600 in performance ~twice the performance (i used to have a 6800LE which unlocked to 16x5 pipes and overclocked well too, and it was a beast even with "only" 128MB RAM).

Also theres the 6600GT which is a decent step up from your old 9800pro

I'd get the X1600 Pro or the 6800, definately worth the little extra.

1600 Pro cards are worse than the 6600GT's. If it was me I'd get a used X800 off ebay or the local free ads.

My 6600gt plays HL2 fine at 1280x768 (highest my monitor supports)
