Scratch Build – In Progress BF 4 M.A.V. Remote [Final Pics]

In our German forum (www.we-mod-it.com) I am just at a CE Modding Contest.

For this purpose, I will link an External Hard Drive and a Verbatim MediaShare, so that I can cop from phone to SD, data to hard disk, mobile phone hard drive, mobile phone to SD and share everything vice versa. The nice thing about the Verbatim MediaShare is coming without AC power from a battery and can charge USB devices. The whole thing is put into a new case that the shape of the MAV Remote from Battlefield. 4

If time permits I will rebuild it in a Quadrokopter stalk of the drone. Then you can charge the and take the pictures with it and view from the SD on the phone.

In the MediaShare is next to the SD slot a USB port. The SD slot I will continue to use so that I can later insert the SD above into the remote.
The USB port must I lay thus, as I later the SSD will not connect with a cable but with a USB bridge

Now the question arises with you why I did not solder off the SSD same. There are two reasons.

1. If the MediaShare is turned off, it is a power pack. Means all devices connected to USB charge until the battery is empty powered.
2. If I want to connect the SSD via USB to computer it will not do because you can not get to the plug to join a normal cable.

So today soldering

First, I have everything Disassembled and the battery removed.



Then I have a USB port double soldered onto the board




One port I connected to the Medishare.




Finally, I have cable then soldered the power and reset button. The two are later placed on a single board.




So that's it again.

 

Update

Today I soldered the power and reset buttons on a single board.

The two buttons sit later with the two outer buttons with the red mark.


So looks the board now



Then I have the USB cable and the power and reset board soldered on the main board

I like seeing a project that's not just a standard PC - this is really neat.

Is it likely to be possible to run the whole device (screen etc) from the battery for any length of time?

 

The display will not work. It is a window where the hardware later sees only one window. I will print on a clearsheet in Screenshoot from the ir optic and fix it behinde the plexiglass. All other parts will run with the battery later.

 

CE mod is consumer electronics, ie anything that is not a PC.

update:

Today I have been looking at the Micro USB plugs and sockets.

What did I learn? SMD components are **** to solder with a normal soldering iron and sausage fingers.

But after I destroyed 2 jacks it went well at the 3rd. I'm glad I had to solder on to power only two stripping.

The socket I have solved the two solder lugs on the board and additionally a drop donated superglue.


he two stripping the plug, I then isolated nor with heat shrink tubing.


Then I have the USB cable from the external hard drive cut and soldered to the bottom USB port.
Then, in order to connect the hard drive to the MediaShare I soldered a USB bridge consists of two connectors.
After all of that is soldered was tested again.
Hard disk is detected, data exchange works, WLAN / Repeater works, battery is charging, battery invites USB devices and external plate can be made by USB lower port on your computer Attached are .


Next, I took care of to the board layout and 3D drawings ranging from internal workmanship to manufacture.

update:

Today I realize the CAD layout of the board in reality.

In addition I have screws threaded through the MediaShare board with this is then attached to the motherboard.
The battery I have provisionally fixed with a piece of polystyrene..



Next, I halved the disk tray and filed recesses for the cable on the bottom.






Then I cut a pattern cover for the battery and holder for the Power / Reset board made of polystyrene.
I will do later in the lid of the exteren housing.




So the front is finished.


On the back I have the USB cable for the hard disk soldered together and screwed everything.
So back even finish.



So the interior is finished except for the lighting

 

totally banana bonkers were the first words to come to mind - so i wrote those...

Update

So I made the iris fix ready.






Then I spent the evening at the computer and draw the individual components of the housing.

Next, it's time to customize. I am yet ordered me welding wire and 1.5mm aluminum sheet. I hope the material comes quickly.

Today I started with the housing.

First, the lower part:

First, cut out the stencil glue on the sheet and then cut.



Then bend all sides and weld it together













Then grind

First I held the board in the housing, to see if everything was okay.
As planned, the top and bottom 1 mm air gap.



Then the same game with the upper part. Sticking stencil, cut, weld seams, and grind.
What can I say ... fits like ass on shitbucket.




Next, I made the cut for Display / Window and Power/Reset board.



That was it again.

Awesome! -Both the electronics reworking and your metal skills.
It should look better in a human hand, instead of those non-opposable-thumbed monkeys in BF4.

Today I started with the Lateral trim .

First, again drawing 1: 1 print and glue onto the tin.




The items I cut myself the Flex and edited with a file and sandpaper.
In the right part I still made ​​the quencher for the speaker. This will later be filled only black.

It's optical fiber. It's for the Led from the mediashare to the holes over the display at the case top

 

@Ironknocker yea thats what i meant... just saw these on a couple of old storageworks servers ive been taking apart for my own build.
