Does anyone know any details, dates or est price for the release of the ASUS Z170 mITX ROG Maximus Impact VIII. So far i haven't seen anything published on the board. I'm looking to upgrade to this board for a new custom case build (my smallest yet) and would love to know to schedule my build and set aside the budget.

I don't think that board even exists yet.

Formula and Impact have yet to be announced by ASUS. Last announcement was Extreme orange edition at IFA.

Has anyone heard any word on the ETA or details of the Impact VIII board? Now into October and was expecting at least a high level leak of features by now!?

I seem to remember when the VII was released that there was very little known about it or even leaks until just a day or two before the NDA expired and the reviews were posted. I imagine it's the same here. I would say end of Nov - early Dec so they can catch the Xmas rush. Although I have to say that I think a lot of people are choosing to skip Skylake and will wait for at least Kaby Lake or even Cannonlake.

Personally, if I was building a new system and could wait, I would wait for Kaby Lake as I believe it's due around the same time as nVidia's next GPU range.

Would have been a worthy mobo for Ada (see my sig); you had me right until the garish lights in the audio jacks... If only they could all be the same colour (like red)! Less is more!

Knowing Asus, its quite possible you'll be able to turn them off in the BIOS if you like. Anyone confirm?

I still think you need the Z97 Pro though Nexxo, its just so perfect!

Thought about it, but it wouldn't fit one of these:

I'd imagine you could turn them off in the bios. Anyway could you machine a cover up?

It's not mentioned anywhere in the manual.

Ah well, I already have a Impact VI motherboard anyway.

Nice board, I have one of those too. Maybe a bit much red for Lady Ada?
I can't see any reason (never mind lack of funds), to move to Skylake or an Impact VIII at all :worried:.

The U.2 socket looks like a backwards step IMHO; I really like the M.2 / Wifi combo setup on the VI & VII.

Well, the heat sinks are going anyway. The red connectors will not be very obvious once everything is plugged in.
