This sounds like good news! I wonder if valve's steam machines have nudged khronos to push a little harder against direct x.
the standard makes sense given the facility to game on a linux based system thatll hopefully become a mainstream standard along with the current MS OS. if I can bin windows off entirely, use Steam OS for my games and OSX for my productivity then I shall be a happy man.. times ahead are looking promising
