Hi guys just a quick one - I have a netbook and want to replace the HDD with an SSD I have. I just want to clone the drive like for like but having used a few different types of hard disk software I can't seem to find one that will just clone the whole drive like for like (partition for partition). They all seem to want to image only one partition at a time which isn't working (quite possibly because I'm being dim) Anyone know how I can just clone one drive to another with it doing all partitions and info in one go? Thanks for any help
Hi I have used Virtual Clone Drive in the past, I'm not sure if its does all the partitions however, but it worked very well for me What programs have you used so far?
Search for hirens boot cd 13.0. It has Acronis true image home 2011. Its really simple to use and works everytime.
I did this using ubuntu live cd and a command called dd after putting both old and new drives in my PC, I then resized the new drive with gparted. kept all rescue partitions etc. you can find plenty of guides on google
easeus is free, you must select clone DISK not partition, regardless you may have issues if the SSD you are cloning to is smaller than the original HDD.
