The Hardware : DFI LANPARTY NF2 ULTRA-B XP-M BARTON 2500+ THERMALRIGHT SI-97A PROLINK 5900XT 256MB G.SKILL HZ EXTREME (2 X 1GB) 2 X 250GB SEAGATE 7200RPM TASK 450WATT PSU The Case to Mod : Grabbed a cheap nasty foxconn case from ETC computers. Wanted to paint it in one day so went out and bought some quickdry spray paint. Both primer and 'april green' Masked up the front and top panel because I wanted to keep the black. Soaked the spray paint cans in warm water beacause I saw some other modder do it on some other site. Proceeded to do 3 coats green, 2 coats of clear coat protection stuff with 15 min interval between each coat. END result. Part 2 will Include cutting window. Might add I've never done these things before. The green looks a little better than in the photo's. Blame the camera. The green is darker. Drilled each corner to have the curves done. Proceeded to jig saw cut the panel. Success! cut without too much drama. Cheap window molding from Hardware Store. Does the job. Perspex $4 from Cambrian plastics Glued in. Sprayed the back side panel black. Fitted here Hmm and that is all for today. Might order some white cathodes tonight.
Dude, it's looking really great, especially considering it's your first mod. I'm not a real big fan of any color green, but that color and the black work really well together. Keep it up!
lol its my second rig with existing parts. Only new thing is the DFI board. My 24/7 rig is alot more modern lol.
ultimate in oldskool modding. thick moulding and rounded corners great mods can be the simplest and least expensive. i like this one.
beware cathodes, they can be dangerous...i recommend wiring leds and if u want the long diffused glow use frosted plexi, i like the green and its a very solid start, can't wait to see the finished product, and hopefully a high attention to detail
