    The most arrogant thing here is that there is already an iPad stylus, called the Pencil, then connects over bluetooth and can detect angle and pressure: http://www.fiftythree.com/pencil

    I believe they may have even been sold in Apple stores...

    I'm not sure I agree with you on this one, doing something for what I perceive as the core Apple users, the artsy types, makes sense.

    But the sticky out camera lens on the iPhone? I can't ever see him signing that off.

    I see your point but that was in the days of XP on tablets, when you needed a stylus to press the buttons designed for a mouse.

    In this case, the styles isn't necessary to use the device, just a nice to have to make it more functional, like the keyboard.

    I have a Samsung Galaxy Notepro 12.2" - it comes with a stylus (for free), has a 12" screen, removable SD card slot and I got mine for under £350.

    Great to see Apple with the new ideas

    Apple have clearly tweaked it a little as there's is more like the size of a pencil rather then that tree branch you've linked to lol.

    The pencil is an optional extra for artists & jotters, if you take a lot of notes maybe its worth it if your playing angry birds not so much.

    Hey, it's a Microsoft Surface 3! :D

    But seriously, it's a nicely designed device, even if the typecover feels uncharacteristically clumsy compared to Microsoft's design. If I was wedded to the Apple ecosystem I'd buy one. But I'm not, so I've got a Surface 3.

    I've been doing a fair bit of design stuff on my iPad Air 2, and although I would enjoy it more on the bigger iPad Pro, I'm waiting to see what mobile/tablet devices are available to me middle of next year that will run Steam.

    I'm not really commenting on the aesthetics of the Pencil (now, which one am I referring to there? See the problem?!), more that Apple couldn't even be bothered to come up with their own name for it and instead not only copied the functionality of someone else's product, but the damn name as well...
