Afternoon guys. So my SSD has been acting up and I'm sending it back for a Curcial M4. My install is back just the way I like it atm. What program could create a perfect image of my install and copy it to a HDD and then when I get my SSD back I can copy/Install it?
I have Acronis True Image which is pretty damn good, you can trial it for free but because it is more full featured you have to know which options to switch on and off. Seagate offer a free utility made by Acronis that will clone your disc with a simple wizard style interface: http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/discwizard I think it works with all drives not just seagate ones. http://forums.seagate.com/t5/DiscWizard-and-MaxBlast/Using-DiscWizard-MaxBlast-to-back-up-non-Seagate-internal-hard/td-p/25406 Finally I have used Easeus Partition Manager which was fairly successful.
+ 1 for Acronis I have it my self You have to have at least one piece of seagate hardware connected to the rig for the Seagate Disk wizard to work but you can clone from and too any make harddrives with it
Sorry guys. I forgot to come back to this I'm looking for freeware more so but I'm gonna look at all of them. I just cant see the point in paying if its only a once off thing. How do i get the image that I create back onto my new SSD? Thanks for all the replies so far guys.
HDClone by miray has a free version, but the better versions are not expensive, i have used it for windows and ps3 hd cloning (paid for version)
