I have a new rig that I would like to get the GTX 460 GPU folding in Linux. I have followed an article on LinuxFAH but I am somewhat confused when trying to make symbolic links to the CUDA wrappers. The directory structure is different to me as my install uses Play on Linux. I have managed to install the CUDA toolkit ok but when I try to install the Nvidia driver I get a message telling me the X server needs modding apparently. Does anyone know of a really good guide to setting this up please. Cheers in anticipation.
I know that GPU Folding under Linux is not supported by PG. I CPU fold under Linux without problem, but this is totally out of my experience - sorry
I think GPU folding under Linux is usually done with Wine, but I have no practical experience. Have you tried the Stanford Folding Forum?
Yep, GPU3 Folding in Linux is via Wine. I've done it previously, but it's such a faff that I've given it a miss with the current setup (that was with Ubuntu). There is an excellent guide on the official forum by Tear and Co.
