Hi

My name is Femke Agnes Toele or as you may know me; F.A.T.
27 years old and I have a passion for casemodding. Lately I’ve been working together with my buddy Tenzin Rongen, we are a great team (FAT - Femke And Tenzin? ). Tenzin is 29 years old and a industrial design student at the university of Rotterdam. He can do and make almost anything!

We are both gold and silversmiths by profession in the Netherlands and have our own businesses. Through out the years we have collected a great deal of tools and materials to work with. In a big workshop we make our designs come to life.

This is a Tron Legacy inspired build, my favorite movie of all time :D!

Below I made a short video of the result because the build is already finished! It had to remain secret until the MSI PRO MOD Season 2 competition started!
( if you already love it you can vote on the MSI Global FB page :D! if you don't ... maybe the buildlog will change your mind?! :eyebrow: haha )

The design:

Bending the plexiglas base in its shape.

The lasercut frame that will hold the motherboard on top of the base

Self adhesive foil I ordered to make the build look like the black suits in the movie ;)

First time putting the elements together

And ofcourse pixel has to check the quality of everything ;)

Bits power send a lot of beautiful fittings!

Look at this cool name tag :D

Thank you Amagriva :D !

So here is the next buildlog update, I will go though these quite quickly so you will see a lot of progress this upcoming week :)!

This is a short video I made of the cutting of the self adhesive foil! A quick test to see if the RGB lights work in real life (not only in my mind.. ;) )

Look at that tiny power supply! Pixel is almost the same size

Graphicscard

In the design I wanted to add the Identity disks they all wear in the movie.
I was looking for them on the internet but the were crazy expensive!!
Then I found these console rechargers in the shape of the Identity disks!
I figured I could just make them into fancy flashy frisbee like killing devices ;) !

Here are the Rinzler and GODLIKE name tags again, now to test them I will cover one with self adhesive foil.
Just a test to check if my idea will actually work ;) !

As you can see "rinzler" lights up pretty good :D !

Ah Ha! Now we know your secret...It is Pixel that does all the dirty job! You lazy Girl! It amazes me how he looks involved in the creation process "testing" all the stuff and always keeping an eye on you...:D

You are a very talented young lady, Femke:thumb:

Love the Tron theme- I am old enough to remember the original film release with Bruce Boxleitner, David Warner and Jeff Bridges.

p.s. I think I must get myself a wee assistent as it seems the best moders have help a la Pixel and Magoo:D

I like Pixel, and I like Magoo, but which one is best, there's only one way to find out.......

Thanks :) ! More progress is coming soon, as the build is already finished! I have a lot of pictures :D!

....Now the secret is out...thanks.... ;) It is true. Pixel does al the dirty work and I just sit back and check my Facebook page and watch youtube videos all day.
He has to work for his food, like we humans do..:naughty: Equality for all!

Thanks :D!!
Seems like a lot of modders have got their assistants to make the buildlogs look more fun than they actually are :hehe: ! haha A match....well it depends on the tools they are allowed to use. Pixel really knows how to work the ... plastic tool to straighten your self adhesive foil ... Special bird with special abilities :naughty: !

Haha yes, he tends to always get it HIS way ;)

So another Update!

Even when you use the lasercutter you always have to adjust a lot by hand.

Pixel found his own special job... "re"-placing the LEDs

RGB LED

Making some aluminium mounting plates.
Everything will be screwed together so you can take it apart again when ever you want + it looks cool!

Ive made another video about the making of the Identity Disks :)

And on with the buildlog!
We've ordered some fancy screws, stainless steel with safety torx!

Attaching the mounting plates to the acrylic.

With angle come, more angles

Powersupply mounting plate

Test fit!

Small test with the self adhesive foil. love it!

fitting the Pump in the base

New spoiler :)!

Here you can see a few bubbles popping up from under the self adhesive foil, but don't worry they are straightened out!

First white than black, so the sides will look white and light up better with the RGB.

Than black

Lots of nuts and bolts ;)

And the Identity disk!! I loved doing this piece!

Thanks Zenator :D!

SO here are the final pictures (finally ;) )!
You have probably already seen them in the short movie clip above, but anyway a buildlog has to end with final picture photos (otherwise it isn't a buildlog ;) )

I choose "Tron"blue for these pictures! Ofcourse it is RGB so you could use any colour you would like this particular one fits really well!

And ofcourse Rinzler Orange/Red :)!

and of course switched off

Hope you like the result :) !

The end result with all of the foil on looks absolutely sick! You've really captured the Tron shapes and lines too.

Bonus points for the Tron theme
Bonus points for originality :thumb:

Cool Thanks for that comment :D !
Now I can start collecting points per build, every next project my score HAS to go up ;) !
The pressure....:sigh: haha

Haha Thanks glad that everyone agrees with ChrisHowell his comment !
Good to know you approve of the Tron theme and final result!

Yes, I know...the SSD. I will change this in the future, there was simply just not enough time... :wallbash:
Actually I'm planning on changing the front side with the hardware a bit, I would like to add more 'Tron" lines and maybe different tubing!
Well that is something I have to think about :dremel:!

I beg to differ, you want to make snarky comments then expect to get served.

I can think of no finer place than in the offending log......

Too bad you interpet it like that!
But your assumption is not true, so don't worry :) !
