Hello all, In pursuit of a few extra ppd from my SMP clients, I've been running IOBit's Gamebooster, which temporarily stops many unnecessary processes on the system to improve performance for gaming, but seems to work equally well on folding - I get a few extra ppd out of my SMP clients. It lets you decide which services and startup programs you want to keep (such as AVG and ZoneAlarm and VNC), and then stops the services you don't really need/want. You can restore all the processes at the click of a button - pretty neat I think, and would love to know if anyone with a high power machine sees any difference from it. fewer processes and more CPU/RAM = faster folding.
