Anyone watch any of the Isner - Mahut match? Ended at 59 games a piece in the final set due to bad light, will continue tomorrow. They played over 7 hours straight of tennis today and over 9 hours in total of this match. They've broken multiple records, longest match (in time and games) most aces etc. etc. etc. Much more interesting than this World Cup shite
I WILL NEVER BE SILENCED! I wasn't trying to knock the world cup with that one, just stating that the WC is really bigged up but a game of tennis, for me, has been much more interesting. Come on, they have played over 150 games... how awesome is that!
Exactly! Glad to have seen it, something pretty unique! They were still pretty much on top of their game towards the end aswell. Yeah you could see they were flagging a bit but still serving at 123mph is impressive. Still getting 3 aces in a row is impressive. ninja: oh dear, I've just noticed we have each other quoted in our sigs... how cute is that!
I've been at work, along with ... well, the 7 or 8 other people still left with a job in this country Haha, I watched the footy at work and the tennis at the gym and when I came home. I'm not a fan of tennis at all but this... "summin else" as Margery Dawes would say
-- 2015 update -- *Does Tardis sound effect* *Gets unwanted attention from large, in season, female animals* *Stops doing Tardis sound effect* ================================================== Murray's comfortably through his match and sounded very upbeat in his post match interview. Did anyone else watch it?
Every year I start off by not being interested in the slightest - "Tennis? Never played it - what a bag o' sh!te" - and then I end up watching bloody loads of it.
I know what you mean. Despite playing at club level throughout much of my teens, there's much about the sport I don't like (elitism for one) but there's something about the atmosphere and tension of a good match that is unique to tennis and I like it a lot.
To be honest Andy is expected to reach the final 4 so him getting through to the 3rd round is good but expected and in a relaxed way too. I was more rooting for Ward today, as what hes got to the 2nd round twice and with his pretty good win today hes made it to the 3rd round for the first time. this is a really great performance for him, hopefully he can make it a bit deeper but even if not still a great performance.
I missed it, dammit (I was trimming a mahoosive hedge at the time). Is it worth watching on the iPlayer?
