    Hey Guys,

Been looking to replace my old plantronics USB Headset from 2 odd years ago as it finally gave up the fight on the microphone the other day.

    I prefer a USB Headset as I'm:

    - Not an audiophile while gaming/Skype etc
    - Prefer the Plug n play aspect; I have a xonar DX sound card for my sound system but prefer to over ride it when I want to use my headset
    - Without going into detail I have this weird legacy problem of being unable to get any mic sound from a 3.5mm mic jack. From either the card or on board. Got fed up ages ago trying to fix it so prefer aforementioned USB.

I pretty much only use it to game, talk to friends over Skype and listen to youtube/Netflix if I want to be quiet. I'm not overly fussed about sound quality in any of these instances but a relatively good quality microphone would make me less offensive to those over Skype.

Having looked on bit tech and around, it looks like my budget of £35-£45 is probably unrealistic. As I want them to not break after 2 months I seem to be asking too much (for example, the behind the head budget corsair model seemed perfect! But apparently they break...)

So am I looking for the in existent perfect bargain headset?

    Cheers

    Chris

    No you are not.

I bough my brothers one of these each. Its been nearly 2 months. They haven't broken them at all. In fact they are quite easy and nice to use....one of my brothers abuses his...uses it in bed, its been on the floor too many times and what not....they are quite sturdy if you remember about them....of course if you step on one no headset is going to survive that. They feel very high quality and the finish on the mic is gorgeous. Belive you me buy this and you will not regret it.

Besides, if you don't want to go for it that's ok too...that budget is not unreasonable at all....but these Corsair ones are some of the best I've seen and I searched a bit for some. There are a number of others out there.

Those fatalities are old, not bad for the price I last saw them at, and I know they've lasted a friend pretty well
