I have an ASUS motherboard with an onboard nVidia graphics chip. It has a TV out which i've hooked upto my TV using a gold-plated, screened 1metre long co-ax cable.

I'm using it to play avi/divx clips through the TV. Yet when i do i get some interference - little horizontal strips of video missing/out of place that really ruins the picture quality. Looks slightly reminisant of the snow you get on analogue tv's and analogue satalite dishes. This is why i replaced the cable with a high quality one and tried to make sure it was away from sources of interference such as mains cables, but still it persists - exactly the same.

Any ideas what's wrong or how to correct this?

Have the inputs on the tv provided clear transmission before?
