I'm just wondering, what people play when on the go? I've an opportunity to test mobile graphics in future and I want to test appropriate games: flash/java/directx etc that people actually play on their laptops.

My current list of more modern games to try is:

    Minecraft.
    Osmos
    Chime/World of Goo?
    Kongregate
    Dirt2
    CS:S
    Civ4
    TF2
    Super Meat Boy

Do you mean low power games that you don’t need a gaming laptop to play, or do you mean, games that you can play on the train, without say, having a mouse plugged in etc?

    If the former:

Dawn of War, Total Annihilation, UT2K4!

    Thanks peeps!

Yea I mean 'on the go', not just low power.

If you have access to a mouse, Creeper World is an excellent game to play on a laptop. Although it can get a bit laggy once you've controlled most of the map.

That sounds like something out of Minecraft! Keywords: Creeper, Laggy, excellent game.

    Is this even real?

I used to play world of warcraft on a laptop with a nVidia 7600M GT and a core 2 duo cpu, from hotel rooms over the wifi.

Depends if you mean "coffee shop" or "hotel room" on the go I guess :)

I just play old games, they are better than modern games anyway imo.

I basically just play anything that is over about 4 or 5 years old. Some of them I can't really play on train journeys, but most I can, and all of them I can play when I'm sitting in bed or on the couch. With a big hard disk I have a lot installed, this is most of it:

Heroes of Might and Magic 5
    Vampire: Bloodlines
    Hitman: Blood Money
    Diablo 2
    TrackMania Nations Forever
    Call of duty
    Deus Ex
    Civilization 2
    Baldur's Gate 2
    System Shock 2
    Worms World Party

And then rest are Dos games using DOSBOX. Here are some that I have installed:
    Atomic Bomberman
    Dune
    Police Quest
    Prince of Persia
    Speedball 2
    Slipstream 5000
