Got my place at Newcastle University to do Computer Science: Games and Virtual Environments! Not sure of my grades yet, need to go into school to know what I got exactly but the UCAS website says I've got my place! I'm off to V Festival today too!

    Good luck to everyone else!

    :D

Likewise, didn't expect Track to be updated so early. Got into Exeter to study physics.

Hard enough, what are you studying?

Glasgow Caledonian University G490 Sept 2008 Unconditional Insurance

University of the West of Scotland (formerly the University of Paisley) H601 Sept 2008 Conditional Firm

(Both courses are in Computer Networking)

Thats what my track details say, I still have to send my college results in so getting that done today, scored A's for both years of the HND so no worries of being refused. Here's hoping I can keep it up though Uni.

(I must confess I'm classed as a mature student now and it's been some years since I did A-Levels/Highers. However I still reckon all this talk of the exams becoming easier is a crock of crap. Congrats to Anyone who got a decent result, with 1 in 4 getting an A I'd like to bet that the guys/gals on BT fall into the 25% of A's)

I did a CCNA at Paisley Uni. I hope they've upgraded the computers and routers in the past few months. They were all AMD 266s running XP Pro on 256mb ram.

I also did a Computing masters at Caledonian. They were all reasonably new dells.

Eitehr way if you're doing networking try and get the CCNA or even CCNP courses as part of your ciricullum (sp?) a lot of places are asking that of dedicated networking technicians. I only got basic networking as part of my course and I didn't realise how little I knew until it became part of my job.

Congratulations on getting into school. I've always said that the most importanting thing you can have in life is a good education. Remember that information is power.

Congrats to everyone, most unis have the first year as non-graded (just need a pass) so whilst you should ensure you study, use your first year to really enjoy your life.

Don't you need an IQ in single figures not to get into Uni these days? :eyebrow:

#1 conversation finisher at mixed-discipline parties tbh.

    A: "What do you do?"
    B: <Insert course here>
A: "Oh really? That's an interesting course, do you like it?"
B: "Yeah, it's really good. What do you do?"
    A: "Physics."
    B: "Oh..."

Oh so many times that happens.

Try not to get too drunk and streak in/around the uni before you're enrolled.

I'm reliably informed that's a great way to get kicked out before you get in >.>

Good job getting what you want :D

    well done!

A-level was hard if you didn't enjoy it. i didn't enjoy my Physics because of the teacher, had AAAB in AS level, A for Physics; but got AAC in Alevel, C for physics :( but still got into Soton, 2 years ago.

TBH, they don't care what you get, as long as it's close to the required grade. and first year should be enjoyed, unless you really want the scholarship, and sure you going to get it, a pass will do :) bring on RA3 nights! i played CnC3 nights and then Kane's Wrath nights with flatmates all the time.

hopefully my friend will be getting into Southampton uni to join me :)

anyone else didn't had their Further Maths result sent to uni?
