I really like it, but for LAN it has two big disadvantages.

    1) LAN is the one time I want a backlit keyboard.

    2) No lock for the cable, means that you can't secure your keyboard to your desk, and as something that I am currently discussing on the I-series forum is the security of peripherals this is an issue.

If they backlit this for an extra £10 I think I would probably get one, but for now I will have to hold back or consider an alternative.

A good point about the lack of lockability. Yet more reason why I feel it should be considered simply as a compact quality keyboard for the home rather than a portable option. A version with tethered cable and backlighting for LANs would make sense though.

Has anyone tired putting a kensington lock point onto a keyboard yet?

LAN theft is actually quite the issue. I was thinking more along the lines of on a high end keyboard.

I had pictures of gun cabinets filled up with keyboards...

I don't do much in the way of LAN parties, so I wouldn't know. And that is a gross overestimation of how many LAN parties I go to.

Fifa contest would be interesting to watch... like super fast football. Just a shame that people concede rather than playing it out half the time on the interwebs.

There are quite a few other TKL boards available, the CMStorm Quickfire Rapid being the obvious one since it's in the same price bracket (although it doesn't have the backlighting)

I actually quite like the look of it, am definitely tempted, although would have to sell on of my current boards methinks.

Got the US layout of this keyboard (apple useage means I am quicker on US than UK lol) and I find this to be fantastic!! I would however want the back light from the new K70 in the K65 compact form.

Less space on the desk and it looks like it would be a lot easier to clean in between the keys. A backlit version would be nice. If it had a detachable num pad, then I would consider it. I don't use it much, but there are times when its almost essential depending on the task.

I had the k60 k90 but now have the k70 of which I much prefer. Trust me the k70 looks a lot better as well.

Or if money's no object get a mechanical one. Keycool, Filco, Cherry, Goldtouch and several others do them now, and if you're really mental you can even get a Topre one from Realforce.

£3.99 for an adhesive kensington lock slot - clean, stick and pray you don't get any of the glue on your hands as it won't be coming off without some skin as well. You just have to love the sheer overkill of industrial adhesives, I still have some double sided tape that makes cyano look like PVA in comparison :D

I did have concerns with that before buying my first TKL keyboard, a few weeks down the line and I was entering numeric sequences faster with the number row using both hands than I ever was using just one on the keypad. As others have mentioned there are plenty of USB ones available if you really do find you need one but I've become so used to not using one that I forget it's there on the Quickfire TK.

    Splitter! :p

On topic - it looks frikkin gorgeous but I liked the look of the alu volume control on the earlier boards, and I'd want a choice of switches.
