Can't view desktop version of home page & articles

    Using an LG G3 phone and Chrome browser all I can view is the mobile version of the site (forums is ok tho). My browser has a desktop request option, and so does the mobile version of the relevant web pages, but neither of them actually get me to the desktop view.

    Mobile web pages suck hard.

    Also the mobile websites do not appear to fully work for more historic content which works on the desktop version
