Hi All Well my comp is back on track since the recent crash and burn and I've been looking for some freeware that was highly rated. I came across CCleaner that looks like the only decent system optimisation software I've ever seen. I just wanted to know your thoughts on it and whether i should avoid it or not. Thanks G
It's on all the computers I touch! Except work, probably why its so slow. Def recommend it, but its not a swiss army knife, sensible browsing and file management is still essential. That is in my opinion!
It's a fine program, but don't expect any performance boost. It's just to keep your computer tidy at the press of a button or two.
a few things i use: firefox with no script, to stop bad things getting installed in the first place. ccleaner spybot search and destroy hi-jack this esset nod anti-virus and firewall common sense But to answer you questions i use ccleaner never had a problem, just make sure you set up exclusions for some cookie's you want to keep. Basic settings should be good enough, and always backup your register if you plan on editing it.
And a lot more. Manage your start up menu, uninstall programs, clean your registry, system restore, drive wiper and more. About the only thing it doesn't do is make you a nice cup of tea.
Yes ccleaner is definitely worth downloading. It can help with your start-up processes as well as keeping the hard disk and directory tidy.
