Hey Guys , I recntly bought a Logitech Driving Force GT to get into sim racing games. I've played Grid 1 & 2, Asseto Corsa , Rfactor and LFS. I'm having the same problem in all of these games where When I'm driving I get this kind of notch when changing direction where for example i'm going from about 40 degrees left to 40 degrees right and when I'm in the middle the FFB/ resistance stops is there any way to stop this as it is really off putting Cheers , Ciaran
Sounds like the wheel itself if it happens on all those games. I've noticed with my wheel that it never keeps the same characteristics from game to game. I am using g27 though. Is there a Logitech Profiler for the GT wheel? If so there should be a test mode that will check all the motors.
In mechanical engineering there is something called backlash. It is the slack that occurs after reversing movement through a series of parts that have small gaps between them. Also in the world of Voodoo that is electricity, you'll get a loss of torque when the rotor of the motor goes through certain positions. This is felt when holding a little brushed dc motor, as it being notchy.

The way you're describing it as "FFB/ resistance stops" suggests to me that there's a deadzone, rather than a mechanical issue. Check the in-game settings for a steering dead-zone. Most games have 5%~ enabled by default, which will give the sensation you're describing. I don't run a dead-zone, as that way you can make minor corrections. Used to have a GT wheel myself, and upgraded to a G27 a few years ago (which I've since modified for better F1 use ). Hope this helps, James
