DNS\email bounce's

hello,

I'm getting really perplexed by a problem, I have a client who says whenever staff (it appears to be one member of staff) emails in from hotmail, he gets this bounce

Reporting-MTA: dns;blu0-omc1-s7.blu0.hotmail.com
Received-From-MTA: dns;BLU0-SMTP165
Arrival-Date: Fri, 15 Jun 2012 01:45:49 -0700

Final-Recipient: rfc822;email@domain.co.uk
Action: failed
Status: 5.5.0
Diagnostic-Code: smtp;553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)

When I mail in from my hotmail, to any single person in the office, the message gets there no problem, if I spell the email wrongly, I get a different bounce, one actually generated by that exchange box and the one I would expect to see if the email had been spelt wrongly.

Does anyone know what this could be? I cant replicate the error so everything in my bones is screaming user error, but quite exactly I don't know....

EDIT: Experts exchange reckons for this exact problem is a hotmail problem. I have checked, double checked all the dns records and there is no problems there, not to mention this email system has been in place now for about 4 or 5 months with no problems.

The bounceback appears that he has written it correctly - my first question was did he pull the address from an address book or did he type it, and if he could make sure he has typed it correctly.

I take it Saspro will be looking at the internet headers
Do you know if e-mail works to other accounts
are both the mx records correct for you?

The end domain's servers are on a blacklist but that will only effect the end domain sending.
MX traces fine.

I would say they're either replying to an old email (before you changed servers) or using a cached entry

I figured it was old or cached which Is why I kept asking him to manually type the address...

I think the blacklist is a result of them keep mailshotting to an old address book with lots of dead address, as they are blacklisted by backscatterer and the notes from that suggest that's how you get there. I need to do a relay test and make some changes to their server I guess.

last couple of weeks have taught me this all to well - but here is the clench, he won't let me as it's his personal hotmail. even using ntr global or logmein so he will be able to see my actions and over ride them, he still won't let me!

So a bit of a stalemate on this one.

Personal email = not your problem. You can look at it but it's chargeable.
