Motherboards USB 2 motherboard headers to USB 3 case?

I am just upgrading an oldish PC into a new case - Corsair Carbide 300r.

I am really impressed with the case for the price.

The only issue for me (but a bonus for most) is that the case has USB 3 connectors and not USB 2.

Is there a cable or adapter that will allow me to plug the internal USB 3 connector into my USB 2 motherboard header?

Otherwise I will have 2 USB sockets on the front and won't be able to use them

I can't add a USB3 card to the PC either as it doesn't have enough PCI-E sockets.

Antec bundled them with some cases but I can't seem to find any available for sale. You could do it with a header to 2 USBs, plus one of these.

Could work - it just seems a lot of money to pay on top of the case (it's just a basic build).

I am going to email Corsair to see if they can send something out like the Antec ones.

Some of the higher-end corsairs have the adaptor too [thinking of the 500r specifically], you could ask on the marketplace if anyone has one spare.

Yeah, that's the one. They really should mass produce them, or at least release them to the general public.

And I know it was expensive, and a fairly ugly solution but it's all I could come up with short of asking you to rip apart the connectors and do some rewiring haha

If i remember correctly I think I got one with my TJ08-e. I'll have a check when i get in for you.

Edit: Didn't read the last post, the carbide kit looks like the best choice.

Hi Krishan - I think I am going to buy myself one of the 500r cases, which come with the adapter. The PC I will have in the 500r has a USB3 motherboard, so it won't need the adapter, so it can go in the 300r.

Should all be sorted!
