Awaiting a Dell Ultrasharp U3415W. Now what? Do I need to calibrate it or is it pretty much set up out of the box?
Very nice! Just set it up and start using it. Unless you are doing professional colour critical work such as being a studio photo editor. I thought all Dell Ultrasharp comes with a calibration report? As a consumer, just use it
Before buying my U2913WM Ultrasharp I would use the windows calibration tool to adjust the gamma to make my old LG pop. I've recently discovered that with the ultrasharp, the default gamma is actually better than the calibrated version. Blacks are more defined and the gradients are actually visible, plus the colours are even more vibrant.
It is here and set up but instructions leave a lot to be desired though I eventually found a bit more help on the driver disk. Do I need to run that by the way? http://forums.bit-tech.net/showpost.php?p=3928808&postcount=29489
Playing Metro: Last Light redux at the screens native resolution at very high setting and the game is stunning. I have just wet myself.
Did have to turn down the brightness a bit as for some reason that was set a 75% which was very noticeable. Apart from that I am loving it and gaming or even just surfing is very good and I adjusted to widescreen very quickly. Great buy and thoroughly recommend.
