i have ordered a new mobo and the stats say that it has a 1.5v agp slot. Does this mean that older graphics cards will not work with it such as a geforce 1? If not can anyone recommend a budget card that can be used for gaming?
its only for cards that are less than AGP 2x but ur card should be ok, if not get a ATI Radeon 9000 Pro or the 9500, i hear good things about them almost all the time. Radeon 9000 Pro about £60-80 Radeon 9500 about £125 depends what your going for....
i thout 1.5 volts is agp 8x and 4x only. my radeon 9700 works at 8x on 1.5 volts. dont stick a 2x or 1x card in a new 8x board unless you want to play a game of RMA the mobo.
Pre- TNT2/RageXL cards are 2x AGP and WONT work with the newest mobos cause they are 3.3v The new 1.5v cards all have a notch missing whereas the old cards dont so you cant put in a 3.3v into a 1.5v only slot anyway.
hi, i received my geforce fx5200 today. It is agp 8x and is direct x 9x compatible , I was wondering i could try it in a 4x agp slot to see what kind of 3dmarks i get. the slot says 1.5 v only on the side. Would this work safely?
