Sure is ugly

 

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I think it looks quite smart.

I may be wrong and have missed it, but I didn't see mention of a gaming switch to turn off the windows key.

 

It's the little padlock key next to the array of macro keys at the top. When lit, windows key is disabled.

I understand the need to reduce costs, and the argument for the high cost of mech boards was the additional cost of the MX switches. Having a membrane and rubber domes should bring the cost sufficiently; without resorting to trying to make plastic look like aluminium.

Over-priced and tacky-looking.

 

I think if I spent this much on a non mechanical keyboard, after the novelty has worn off in a couple of days looking at the fancy backlighting, I'd be kicking myself for not saving up a bit longer and spending that little bit extra for the real deal TBH.

These Mechanical keyboards are slowly getting my interest up. Just needs a USB 3.0 socket at the back for when I want to use a USB flash stick or for quick setup/dismantle of my G25. Then I will buy one!

 

Be careful, mate. This one isn't actually a mech board, it's just been tarted up to look like their mech boards.

However, I wouldn't limit the range of selection of boards based on USB 3.0. You'd be better off with a hub mounted in the front panel or an external one on the desktop, then take your pick of some of the lovely boards on offer.

 

Oh right. I guess I haven't been interested in Mech boards before, that I never bothered to do my research into them.

I can't use front panel as it gets messy, and a desktop hub is not what I want either, as it will add more clutter to my desk.

When I had my G19 keyboard (Wish I never sold it!) the 2 USB ports was perfect.

I'll wait till they bring one out, but backlit keys is a step in the right direction, especially when your playing with the lights off!

 

The backlighting is brilliant especially if you live somewhere near water.

What on earth does one have to do with the other?

Living near water = unholy number of insects in summer = can't have window open after dark as having the lights on would attract all the critters, a keyboard backlight however is bright enough to see what you type while at the same time not being bright enough to attract insects.
