My 2 year old likes to watch me play games on the PC, but I need advise on more. Most of the kids stuff is educational only and we just want a bit of entertainment together for 20 minutes. Currently we're playing through Trine 2 as it's sparkly and he can easily follow the 2.5D man on the screen.
I'm not being funny, but the ability to play Diablo 3 with just a mouse is highly under-rated. I just prop my little'un on my knee and hold her while I can play the game. Just turn the fidelity options down a bit to reduce the gore particles on screen (as there is no 'no-gore' option for whatever reason), and she loves watching. Especially around bedtime, pillow on my knee, lay her down and she just watches while she sups her milk and drops off. As for actual children-friendly games, obvious question but have you tried Minecraft?
What about old-school puzzlers like lemmings or the incredible machine? or newer stuff like The Cat Machine...
How about adding Rocket League (vs bots) to the list, it's simple enough for a young child to play as they just need to hold down the acceleration and move the stick.
Yea, it's not exciting enough for him Then turn on the monsters and it's too scary! OH GOD YES!! And Lego games - yep I need to invest in a few - thanks for recommendations all! Never heard of it, will look it up. Again will look it up. I think I need to look at buying a Wii U too.
