Hello, I am now finding parts and it is not that easy. There are lots of parts and from 4 or 5 different online shops. Is there a Newegg equivalent online shop in UK? Thanks.
What would constitute a UK equivalent to NewEgg? Ebuyer.com is cheap and reliable and has a wide range of products.
Does NewEgg offer a pretty good range of products, a well laid out and easy to navigate site, but worse prices than its rivals and truly awful customer service? Because if so overclockers is your best UK equivalent (Or, in other words, avoid OCUK)
That site always times out. I am not sure why. Loads a bit slow. Well newegg offers stellar service and people keep going there. Actually, I have no clue. I just use google shopping, ebay and amazon to find items. I am compiling sites now. That ebuyer looks good.
Ebuyer is also good. Dabs seems a little overpriced to me, but generally you can't go wrong with Scan or Ebuyer, Scan's customer support is the best I've seen.
Really? I would say Ebuyer are the best for customer service, with them it seems like they don't want trouble they will just send out a replacement ASAP whereas with Scan it took 12 days for me to receive my replacement PSU. I also had a situation with them once where I needed to cancel an order, I rang them and was put on hold for over 25 minutes and then again for a further 15 minutes the second time I rang to which point I gave up. So I tried to cancel the order via support, explaining why and clicking the box to cancel an order but in the end had it delivered and had to send it back at my own cost.
Just bought a bargain GTX 260 from OcUK (£170) and have never had any problem with them at all. On the other hand, having seen their premises, you don't get the ambience of security and longevity...
As a BT shareholder I get discounted prices at Dabs; they're still generally more expensive than ebuyer and Scan. Important points to me are Free delivery at ebuyer on orders over £50 Free delivery at Scan on orders over £30 for some forum members Aria also worth looking at.
Free Del at Scan and OCUK for forum members (Scan is 20 posts minimum at HEXUS). Depends what you want, eBuyer is the massive store that's been around for ages and is very reliable and used by thousands of businesses around the UK because they have an awesome reputation. Scan are more of a "family" business, even though they are huge, and sometimes they can be weird with people not getting refunds within 2 weeks, but overall they are very customer freindly. Then you have OCUK which is hated by many and places that cpemme has stated. Newegg is the biggest place in the USA right online? If so I would say Ebuyer.com is your best bet, although they are normally cheap.

But, none of the above shops gets even close to selling as much stuff as newegg does and also none of the them is actually good at everything (ebuyer gets the closest but still a very long shot from newegg).
Depends on the minimum share amout but the way things are going i'm quite sure we all could be... Irritatingly i always bought from dabs till they were bought out then they went down hill.
I always think scan are a bit pricey for what they have, but they do have some very specialist items. Who says NewEgg are top of the pile? Apart from endless mail-in rebates, Ebuyer et al are missing nothing that NewEgg can offer. [Interestingly, the card I bought from OcUK was the equivalent of $50 cheaper than NewEgg - Way to go, weak pound!]
Ebuyer does have a smaller selection, also it takes them longer to stock new released parts. Besides, nothing beats newegg if it comes to exploiting the rma system, no other shop would ever be so tolerant if it comes to returning non faulty items. The mail in rebates are not newegg specific, they are a america wide thing.
thanks for the list! may i add OCuk customer service has improved, their new forum support section are quick and easy to get an answer. the ones i shop at are: (in order of preference when price are the same) -Ebuyer -OCuk -Scan -Novatech and now i shall have a look at Tekheads. Novatech: +fast delivery +free delivery 3-4 days +relatively cheap +have store outlet in Bristol, Reading, Portsmouth, so can do collection. -bad RAM selection -use DHL (why is it a bad thing? )
Ebuyer have a smaller selection but they have bucket loads of whatever they have normally, because like I said earlier, a lot of businesses use em.
