    Guys,

I'm looking to build a NAS unit and am quite taken by the Netgear RND4000 unit. It can take up to 4 SATA hard drives, but I can't find any tech-spec on what disc types are supported, either on the CCL page or Netgear site. CCL Code: NET6070

    I need to know: -

    • SATA I, II or III
    • Max individual drive capacity (Terrabytes)
    • Max total capacity (Terrabytes)
    • Any suggested make & model of drives
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,

    Mike.

Selecting the Readynas NV+ on this list should help in compatibility choice

It appears to take Sata 2 and Sata 3 Drives, with max individual drive size of 2TB so a max of 8TB in total

I would personally go with Hitachi Drives, have 4 2.5" ones in my Nas at the moment and they have been faultless *touches wood*

    Thanks Yorkie.

When I looked at the Netgear product page originally, I missed a link to the dedicated "ReadyNAS" website which has a page to pull up all the tested compatible hard drives for all the Netgear NAS models. Just in case anybody else has a similar query, here is the link: - http://www.readynas.com/?page_id=82.

    Thanks,

    Mike.
