Welcome back to the Sails of Corsair. How we have missed you.

This looks like a decent keyboard although I will wait until I see images and videos of the real thing before my final opinions. Looking forward to it though as I prefer the Strafe over the 'K' series.

    EDIT: Just found this.

Finally a worth upgrade from my Gigabyte Aivia Osmium. Silent mechanical keys and the ability to have backlighting in something other than red.

Anyone know why QWERDF keys are different?

I decided I had to try one of these 'gaming' keyboards rather than hating on them for being backlit typists keyboards.

    I bought a Corsair K70.

It was the biggest waste of money I've ever spent on PC equipment.

If you've never used a keyboard from the late 80's - early 90's - there ya go. You have now. With backlights! Wow.

Now back to using my GAMING Zboard keyboard.

.... as long as the crappy membrane lasts that is.

This sounds like Cherry switches with integrated dampers.

IMO it doesn't matter how you damp the switch, be it landing pads, o-rings or some kind of internal dampening - you're still killing the feel of the switch.

The only possible upside I can envisage is dampening the key return, which should reduce some of the noise without impacting the typing experience.

Would be nice to get a K70 RGB Silent as I am a fan of their metal frame design (vs. plastic on the Strafe).

They are angled and textured for gaming. QWERDF for MMOs and WASD for FPS.

They are replaceable; I believe you also get a standard set.

Plastic? Yew! That's a shame. The metal frame was one of the key features of the older models, their own marketing said:
The rugged aluminum chassis provides increased durability and stability compared those that are primarily plastic.
