I'm hoping RTS. TBS doesn't look like the right setup for this kind of scenario.

Could go down the GalCiv2 route. Which is a damn good game. But then on the other side you have SINS, which is also a "damn good game".

    All depends on the execution.

Cant say i have ever played it. However i have only ever heard good things. (I have been told by many that this fact is indeed a tragedy and that i should feel like there is gaping hole in my life)

I'd like a 4X where discovering a habitable planet was a big deal rather than just something that happens. I also can't quite square the 'legends of Pegasus' with a seriously futuristic sci fi!

You would do well to nab all three (Homeworld, Homeworld: Cataclysm and Homeworld 2) and find how well a space RTS can be done, that's true. I only wish Steam would get hold of them :)

Homeworld 2 ruined it for me, Homeworld 1 and Cata were much better, they dumbed down 2 a lot I felt, took away a lot of the fleet formations, things like fuel for fighters/corvettes, made it too easy just to load up with BC's and jump in, before had to think about logistics, how to get fuel to you ships etc

This just might cut into my sins of a solar empire addiction if it turns out for the better.

You've never seen the new battlestar galactica have you? The Pegasus was a truly mighty ship in a gritty sci-fi world. Although if you have seen the show, there is an issue with putting the term - futuristic - in that same sentence. :)

that does sound a lot like sins, still should be interesting.

Shame about the name, sounds a bit like a barbie game.

Homeworld 1 cata and 2 all don't run on win 7 so they are kinda lost for most people
