Hi,i am here with a friend with a too big monitor....

He's wondering if it's possible to have windows maximize programs to a set section of the screen. Just to make sure there is a bit let over on the side for chat and such...

If not? Can i challenge people here????

Why not just set the screen res to a smaller size or get a smaller screen?

Don't think what your looking is possible not with any software that I know of.

I jsut resize them so they leave the chat window visible and close them like that and they reopen the same size.

 Windows will still place new windows at a slight off-set though, but if you are mostly concerned with web-browsing then you want something which supports tabbed browsing (where you can easily keep only a single window open). Examples are Firefox, Opera and IE7 when that comes out. It is possible with IE6 either with 3rd party add-ons (or variants) or by using the latest (U.S.) MSN Toolbar.

Using Ultramon with an edited script windows can now be resized to the left or right half of the screen (splitting the screen in two virtual monitors). Other windows are not affected though.
Windows explorer is one of the programs that always pops up with an annoying offset btw.

How can you have a monitor that's too big?! :eyebrow:

I've been trying to find a Mitsubishi/NEC Diamond Pro 22" CRT for ages now they've stopped making them. I need big CRT goodness.... :naughty:
