out of these, I really like #3 - but I would like some lightening of the duck itself. I think the colors make for a great composition, but your subject is getting lost in there. That green head should be adding to the overall brightness and instead I feel like it is almost as dark as the troughs of the water. :)

    Hope that helps!

The rest I like, but none really speak to me - technically fairly well done, but I look at it and go "oh, ducky. Moving on."

I quite like #1. I think the background manages to be very interesting without being busy enough to draw attention away from the duck, and the tiny details in the feathers really come through.

I think they're all very well done nature photography. Nice and sharp just as how it should be.

very good shots. i particularly like #4, the colors of the duck feathers and the reflections in the water combined with the warps in the water make the picture very harmonic. the only thing i dont like about these shots is the framing choise and to be more specific the colored frame element. i think in all the pictures it's too contrasty and strong and draws attention from the picture itself. the colors are fine but i think you should pick a more subtle shade of color for that purpose

all in all a very good job, i'd like to know the gear specs used in this session, particularly the lens :)

As per request, brought the duck into the light a bit more.

@ssR Thanks for your comments about the borders, still learning my way trough them. When I get the time, I'll re-do them and see what I can come up with.

As for the equipment, all these were shot freehand with an Olympus E-520 and the 70-300 (140-600mm equiv.) lens.

To everyone else, thanks for your input and comments, keep them coming.

Very crisp shots, love that. And the colors are great, very vivid.

    :)
