Might be a stupid idea, but why don't we have RAM chips with heatsinks that go /// (or more sideways) away from the heatsink? They'd be lower profile again and would avoid contact with large CPU coolers :p

Sounds like a good idea to me, do all RAM sockets face the same way though on different motherboards? The DIMMs only go in one way round, so it wouldn't be much good if they ended up pointed \\\ towards the CPU cooler instead of away from it!

I am interested in all OCZ ram. Unfortunately, Blade ram is hard to find in my neck of the woods. I am also finding it hard to get a price on the new Blade 2 ram. Does anyone have an idea concerning price of 3X4, 12GB Blade 2 at 2133 and 2400 mhz?
