Not bad, the volts are a tad high, but I'm conservative when it comes to voltages. Still very nice. Your temps are a bit high no? Still quite a pretty OC. I'd say lower it a tad just so it doesn't cook nearly as much. 80C is hot for me.
Volts aren't that bad, but have you stressed it at lower volts? Temps are the same as mine at 4.7 running Intel Burn test, which is WAY more brutal than Prime95, so temps are getting a bit edgy there. SB-E is just hard to cool properly with a fast OC.
I've been spoiled by my i5 2500k's epic clocking. That and it does 4.3 @ 1.27v. Then again it's a tad slower but not by much.
Yeah Ive done some tests at lower volts and had bluescreens/crashs. I think I can take it down a notch or two on the volts, I need to do some finer tuning. I ran intel burn test and the temps where about the same at max. I agree…. Temps are a smidge too high for me on this for a constant overclock. Hopefully lowering the volts a small amount and getting that sweet spot of no bluescreens/crashs after 12hr run of prime and max temps below 80 degrees. Ill lower the voltage a smidge and re-run prime for 12 hours (fingers crossed) I have made allot of tweaks in my BIOS, is there anything I can lower/raise/change which affect the temps but wont damage/make unstable my pc?
You'll probably have to lower your clock as well. Better to have a cool stable overclock than to have a high hot one. Especially when the difference is a matter of 2-400 mhz. Sure it's technically worth the performance. But not at that heat envelope.
Yer I agree completely. Ill contiunue doing tests and if its still overly hot (after 12hr prime test) with a slightly lower voltage Ill lower the clock! Would a heatsink re-sit be worth doing or is my noctua doing as good a job as it can? Thanks!
