I am having a few issues with a build for a friend of mine. I just want to eliminate mobo shorting. Could someone please help me and post an image of what the correct screws are for mobos? I am now using black flat head ones...is this correct? Also, are those little red mobo screw washers absolutely necessary? Thanks for any help.
Motherboard standoffs prevent shorting: As for the actual screws you use, I don't think it really matters as long as the head is sufficiently small not to touch the circuitry on the board - the black flat head ones are no doubt fine. And the red washers - it's a good idea to use them - although they're not really necessary if you line the screws up correctly and fit the motherboard in the case properly (I didn't bother with them on my current setup).
Don't think I've ever used washers when installing a motherboard. Can't recall ever even seeing such things included with any of my mobos or cases...
What depends on that choice of screw, whether to use washers? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
nah dont worry about washers m8 as long as you have standoffs in place. If you do wont to use they go between screw and board but they now long obsolete.
Thanks Malc. Always use stand offs. Just wanted to make sure I was going about things the right way. Sort of belt and braces approach. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
