That got your attention didn't it, well no i'm not a child or a tard i'm just curious as to where all the z77 boards have gone. Scan sell very few, ebuyer have discontinued a few too. I have a p67 board and was thinking about upgrading to a z77 and downsizing to MATX so the gene V would be perfect for me, can run 3 screens that way too but nowhere seems to stock them, least not the main retailers ?
Exactly as above. They're two generations old now. There's no point stocking them and they are EOL anyway. No new ones have been made for months upon months. Your best bet is the second-hand market.
or you could get a H77/Z77 board, though now haswell is on the scene they're starting to disappear too...
Nvm i meant z77, gonna amend the title, oops. Its because i had been looking to see what was available. #derp.
The highend boards are EOL because the market moved to Haswell, and there manufacturer don't expect many to buy "new Ivy Bridge systems". So the highend boards are gone, you are left with lowend and lower mainstream for Ivy Bridge. To be honest, Gene V was hard to find for about half a year now, at least in my country.
I waitin for an Asrock z77 Extreme6 that I won, I wonder if I'll see a difference with my Gigabyte Z68X-UD4-B3 ? Probably not but It's always fun to upgrade
You will have better boot time (UEFI), especially considering ASRock has one of the quickest boots i ever seen. You will get USB3. Other than that, you won't see much - PCI-E3 needs Ivy Bridge CPU and there is not much else different
Go from 16 phases to 8 phases isn't much of a upgrade to me. The Z68X-UD4-B3 is prob one of the best places to stick a 1155 CPU period. Love mine.
